We are seeking a full-time Financial Analyst I to work in our Dallas, TX office.

Great American Group® Advisory & Valuation Services, L.L.C. (“GA”) is one of the nation’s leading inventory appraisal and valuation firms. Our appraisals help financial institutions prepare asset-based loans for a variety of companies within a broad range of industries. GA currently has a position open in our Inventory Appraisal Wholesale/Industrial Group. We prepare detailed inventory valuation appraisals through quantitative and qualitative analyses of a company’s operations, its industry and how their assets would perform in a distressed situation. We work closely with our liquidation division to apply their knowledge to each individual appraisal

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Ability to assist with 3 to 4 appraisals per month, in a supportive role
  2. Analyze company provided data to uncover emerging trends and verify accuracy
  3. Perform sku analysis to identify slow moving segments of inventory
  4. Reviews and identifies company expenses necessary for appraisal model
  5. Effectively sets priorities and works in an organized manner while managing multiple moving deadlines
  6. Perform due diligence, monitoring and communicating open items with subject company to ensure compliance
  7. Maintain internal communication with deal team as well as external communication with client/company contact
  8. Perform industry research applicable to particular projects as well as maintain database of information related to specific industry
  9. Performs management interviews and site visits as needed; travel could represent 20% -25% per month
  10. Learn and adhere to current USPAP guidelines for all appraisal engagements
  11. Provide support for other ad-hoc projects as needed

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, with a concentration in Finance or Economics preferred
  2. Advanced knowledge of financial statements and understanding of accounting terms and retail terminology
  3. Detail-oriented, able to effectively manage time, strong planning skills, and excellent analytical skills
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. Excellent knowledge of MS Excel operations
  6. Demonstrated strong level of computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications, as well as other office software products in a Windows environment
