Biography

Michael Brill is a Senior Managing Director in the firm's investment banking practice,  where he focuses on private capital raising.  


Mr. Brill has wide-ranging experience raising capital for middle market companies in support of an array of corporate objectives, including growth and acquisition financings as well as recapitalizations, refinancings and project financings. Over his 25-year career at both bulge bracket and boutique firms, he has structured and executed transactions at all levels of the balance sheet, from senior and subordinated debt to growth equity. He has worked with clients in the consumer, healthcare, business services, financial services, industrial, technology/media, and energy and infrastructure sectors of the economy.


Prior to joining legacy FocalPoint, now B. Riley Securities, to open the firm's New York office, Mr. Brill was head of the private capital markets practice at Duff & Phelps. He previously led the private financing practices at Lehman Brothers and Barclays and the fixed income practice at Canaccord Genuity. Mr. Brill holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration from Yale University.
