Biography

Rajesh "Raj" Sood is Senior Managing Director and Head of Private Capital Advisory with B. Riley Securities responsible for serving as the lead advisor in raising senior and junior capital to support refinancings, rescue financings, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, growth capital, and acquisition financing. He has over 30 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital markets and financial restructurings.

Raj has represented clients in a wide range of industries including restaurant and retail, manufacturing, business services, building products, and consumer products. In 2019-2022 he was profiled in the Los Angeles Business Journal as among the region's "Most Influential Investment Bankers".

Prior to B. Riley, he was a senior member of the leveraged finance team at Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin and worked in the corporate finance and leveraged finance group at NationsBanc Montgomery Securities.

Raj is a is a frequent guest speaker on topics related to debt capital markets and is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization. He received a Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Kansas and Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas in Austin.

He was recognized as a Banking Visionary in the LA Times' Banking and Finance Magazine 2022.
