Biography
Lauren Marteney is a forensic accounting professional and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Before joining B. Riley Advisory, Lauren served as a Manager in the Forensic and Integrity Services practice at Ernst & Young (EY). Her diverse clientele has ranged from Fortune 500 companies to state and local government entities.
Since 2019, Lauren has been a member of Baylor University's Department of Accounting and Business Law Advisory Board. In her capacity as a board member, she has assisted faculty with operational and academic strategy. She has also participated in panel discussions in the Accounting Career seminar course aimed at students choosing their specialization within the profession.
During her tenure at EY, Lauren co-authored and presented complex accounting topics to non-financial professionals at multiple industry conferences, including the National Homeland Security Conference, the National Hurricane Conference, and the Texas Division of Emergency Management Conference.
At EY, Lauren delivered in-depth forensic accounting and client service training for second and third year associates. Topics included technical concepts around fraud investigations, financial analysis for disputes, developing quality workpapers, managing client relationships and driving engagement success.
In addition, she authored and co-presented a seminar on client engagement quality and risk management for a national practice under Forensic and Integrity Services.
