GlassRatner/B. Riley Advisory Services Adds High-Profile Economist to Lead New Practice

Dr. Rich Bergin joins to lead the firm's Economic Consulting Practice in Boston

GlassRatner/B. Riley Advisory Services, a specialty financial advisory services firm and subsidiary of B. Riley Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ: RILY), announced the addition of high-profile economist Dr. Bergin who joins the firm as a Senior Managing Director based out of Boston, MA.

As an economic expert with over 20 years of experience, his practice will focus on complex economic analysis, quantifying economic impacts, and calculating damages across antitrust, securities, and international arbitration matters. In addition, his practice will specialize in applying rigorous economic analysis to high-stakes litigation, including monopolization cases, price-fixing allegations, securities fraud, and sports economics disputes.

Dr. Bergin's expertise spans valuation, class certification, statistical modeling, econometrics, and the assessment of economic damages across multiple industries—including energy, financial services, pharmaceuticals, technology, and sports.

Previously, Dr. Bergin co-led Alvarez & Marsal's Economic Consulting practice and worked as a chemical engineer at Shell for five years. He holds a Ph.D. and MBA from Harvard Business School, where he attended as a Fulbright Scholar and was named a Baker Scholar. Dr. Bergin currently serves as Vice-Chair of the ABA Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources (SEER)'s Enforcement & Litigation Committee.

"This is a significant addition for us," said Ian Ratner, CEO of GlassRatner/B. Riley Advisory Services. "Rich is a highly qualified economist and will be leading efforts to build a team of skilled economists who will complement our suite of litigation consulting solutions. We have been planning to build out this side of the practice for some time and are thrilled that Rich has decided to join us. He will also help us establish a strong presence in Boston—allowing us to expand in this key geographical market."

"I'm incredibly excited to join GlassRatner/B. Riley Advisory Services and take on the opportunity to build out the Economic Consulting practice in Boston," said Dr. Bergin.
