Biography

Dr. Rich Bergin has over 20 years of experience in complex economic analysis, quantifying economic impacts, and calculating damages across antitrust, securities, and international arbitration matters. He specializes in applying rigorous economic analysis to high-stakes litigation, including monopolization cases, price-fixing allegations, securities fraud, and sports economics disputes.

As Senior Managing Director at B. Riley Advisory Services, he leads economic analyses for advisory services. Dr. Bergin's expertise spans valuation, class certification, statistical modeling, econometrics, and the assessment of economic damages across multiple industries, including energy, mining, financial services, pharmaceuticals, technology platforms, and sports.

Previously, he co-led Alvarez & Marsal's Economic Consulting practice and worked as a chemical engineer at Shell for five years. He also holds a Ph.D. and MBA from Harvard Business School, where he attended as a Fulbright Scholar and was named a Baker Scholar. Dr. Bergin currently serves as Vice-Chair of the ABA Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources (SEER)'s Enforcement & Litigation Committee.
