Corporate Responsibility

Human Rights

B. Riley is committed to respecting the inalienable rights of everyone whose lives we touch. We support and comply with guidelines and restrictions developed to prevent forced labor, discrimination and other workplace injustices, and provide for protected classes. The Company is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable work and business environment, with policies that result in disciplinary action for anyone who challenges our infectious disease-free, violence-free, harassment-free, discrimination-free, weapons-free, drug-free, and smoke-free environment.

B. Riley expects inclusivity, of itself and all affiliates, and is dedicated to improving diversity. Since 2019, three women have been added to the B. Riley Financial Board of Directors, we have developed a B. Riley Women's Advisory Committee, and have formed a strategic partnership with the Robert Toigo Foundation. While those initiatives are illustrative of our commitment, we strive to do much more.

In response to the COVID pandemic, employees were offered the flexibility to work remotely, rather than at a B. Riley facility, for a period that was extended to 24 months. Facilities were completely closed during case spikes, and business travel and visitors were not permitted for extended periods of time. Every decision by management was made out of an abundance of caution, in order to prevent undue risk to employees, clients, partners, their families and our communities.

Ethical & Sustainable Business Operations

B. Riley holds itself to a high ethical standard and strives to go above and beyond legal requirements to do what is right. B. Riley carefully considers the social and/or environmental impact of investments and other business endeavors. We hold our employees, clients and partners to the same standards.

B. Riley strives to manage our facilities in an efficient and environmentally sustainable manner and continues to look for new ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Our current focus is on limiting paper waste, increasing recycling efforts, and hosting virtual meetings to reduce travel.

Philanthropy & Community Engagement

We are committed to supporting our communities through our emphasis on corporate giving and employee engagement. We are proud to directly support several causes and organizations that benefit the greater good, including the Toigo Foundation, Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation, the Malibu Triathlon (for CHLA), Cycle for Survival (for Memorial Sloan Kettering) and Meals on Wheels, to name just a few. Credo Mobile, a wholly owned subsidiary of B. Riley Financial, donates its revenue to causes its subscribers care about, to drive positive social change through the support of progressive causes.
