Biography

Nishen Radia is a co-founder of legacy FocalPoint, now B. Riley Securities, and has approximately 27 years of experience advising middle-market companies on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity recapitalizations and financial restructurings. His past clients include multi-billion dollar private equity funds and family business owners.

Mr. Radia previously worked in investment banking at Merrill Lynch, SocGen and Baring Brothers in London, New York, and Hong Kong. At B. Riley, he has driven outstanding outcomes for his clients by combining his bulge bracket experience with tenacity and dealmaking creativity. Mr. Radia has won numerous awards including the "40 under 40" award for dealmaking, and for five consecutive years has been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal's "LA 500", an exclusive list published annually to recognize Angelenos who have impacted the community with outstanding business accomplishments, civic leadership, and philanthropic efforts. He has also been named multiple times to the LABJ's "Top Private Equity Advisors" list and labelled a "Dealmaker of Influence", a highly regarded industry ranking of finance professionals who drive the region's near trillion dollars of economic activity.

Mr. Radia sits on the board of the Spanish Peaks Community Foundation and is the former chairman of the board of one of the nation's largest non-profit lenders. He is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization and has appeared multiple times on NBC Nightly News, commenting on economic and M&A market matters. He received his Master of Business Administration with distinction from UCLA Anderson School of Management and graduated with honors with a degree in economics from the University of Bristol, England.
