Biography

Joseph Aber is a Director who comes to the firm with experience helping organizations manage their risk and resilience function with a specialization in business continuity and operational continuity (BCP/COOP) planning and implementation. Joe led the business continuity and emergency response function at a global financial services firm, including managing governance, maintenance and testing. In addition, he has led over 120 tabletop exercises.

Mr. Aber has over 30 years of experience in risk analyses, program development and operations leadership with major insurance carriers, including Berkshire-Hathaway and Progressive. His area of focus included corporate liability arising from the actions of directors and officers. He has worked with the boards of directors of publicly traded companies to implement best practices in litigation risk mitigation.

Joe has also served as an operations leader and program developer at Progressive Corporation and W. R. Berkley where he developed and launched new specialty operations, including planning for program resilience.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Aber was an Assistant Vice President at W. R. Berkley, where he worked to develop and manage the business continuity and emergency response function. He also implemented and managed a web-base business continuity platform developing over 350 plans.

At W. R. Berkley (Global Insurance Company), he worked with senior leadership to create a global business resilience program. Joe established the governance structure for business continuity, as well as analyzed the intercompany dependencies, working with 60 operating units and corporate functions to create, test and update business continuity plans.

Joe has his MBA from Wright State University and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Management at Notre Dame College.
