Private Equity and Private Credit Leaders on the Move
As we head into November and get closer to the end of our year, we take a look at some of the recent movements of leaders in Private Capital.
Private Credit hiring continues its upward trend, dominating this month's report, while in the Private Equity sector, a diverse mix of specialist and generalist Operating Partners have moved to new firms. Among notable new hires, Brian Crandall joined TSG Consumer Partners as Managing Director, following his former Platinum Equity colleague, Dori Konig, who joined in August.
Interest in AI continues to grow, with Jordi Diaz taking on the role of Managing Director and Head of Data Science and AI at Bain Capital, and Parinaz Sobhani stepping into a similar position at Sagard. This follows a wave of AI-focused hiring by firms such as Blackstone (Yasser Ezbakhe), Middleground Capital (Wade Claggett), and L Catterton (Jay Chua), which have all strengthened their teams in this area over the past year.
Jason Meyer has joined Atlas SP Partners as a Managing Director, coming from his role as Managing Director at Truist Securities.
Abhishek Dhayal has become Managing Director at 5C-Investment-Partners, transitioning from his previous position as MD of Private Credit at Partners Group.
Brian Polomsky is now a Managing Director at Barings, following his role as MD of Direct Lending at Principal Asset Management.
Juan Mazzini has taken on the role of Managing Director at Blackstone, after serving as MD and Head of Asset Allocation at Global Atlantic Financial Group.
Justin Karp has joined The Carlyle Group as Managing Director, after his work as Managing Director at Golub Capital.
David Welinsky is now Managing Director, Head of Capital Markets at Gemspring Capital, having previously been a Managing Director at Monroe Capital LLC.
Allison Pistone has become Managing Director, Real Estate Private Credit at BDT & MSD Partners, following her work in the same role at Cerberus Capital Management.
Michael Cummings has taken the position of Principal at Alvarez & Marsal Capital, after serving as Principal at Abry Partners.
Justin Roth is now a Principal at BDT & MSD Partners, after holding the same title at Centerbridge Partners, LP.
Brandon Boyd has joined Riata Capital Group as Principal, transitioning from his previous role at Prolign Capital, LLC.
Yifan Lai has moved into a Principal role at Wellington Management, following her work as Principal at Runway Growth Capital.
Tom Costello is now Senior Partner at The Edgewater Funds, previously serving as Managing Director at Duchossois Capital Management.
Kevin Blitz has transitioned to Managing Director at Comvest Partners, after serving as Principal at Firmament.
Taylor Catarozoli has joined Graycliff Partners LP as Managing Director, coming from his previous role as Partner at Liberty Hall Capital Partners.
Abhishek Rampuria is now Principal at Lightbay Capital, after moving from his role as Partner at M/C Partners.
William O'Connell has moved to Permira as Principal, after serving in the same capacity at Investcorp.
Tom Belatti has joined Riata Capital Group as Principal, after his role as SVP at HIG Capital.
Gianluigi Sepe is now a Principal at Windjammer Capital Investors, transitioning from his previous role as Principal at SFW Capital Partners.
Dave Hickey has joined Advent International as an Operating Partner, having previously served as EVP and President of the Life Sciences segment at Becton Dickinson.
David Willis has become an Operating Partner at Princeton Equity Group, after working as CEO at European Wax Center.
Jim Mauck is now an Operating Partner at Sentinel Capital Partners, after holding the position of IT Leader at Power Products LLC.

Heather Gilpin is now the Head of Talent at Avesi Partners after previously working with a boutique executive search firm.
Matthew McKinley transitioned from his role as Principal at Nauset Ventures to Senior Operating Advisor at LLR Partners.
Tracey Byrne moved to Apollo Global Management as a Talent Operating Partner having previously been with Macquarie Group where she served as the Managing Director of The Portfolio Performance Group (MAM Real Assets).
Michael Vineberg has moved into a Partner role at Torquest Partners, following his tenure as an Operating Partner at L Catterton.
Khalil Chagani has transitioned to a Principal role at Sagard, after serving as Director at Beedie Capital.
Celina Campus has taken on the role of Managing Director, Portfolio Strategy, Private Equity at CPP Investments, moving from her role as Principal at Dawson Partners.
Samantha Crawford, MBA has joined CPP Investments as a Managing Director, coming from her previous role in Sr. Technology Procurement at Rogers Communication.
