Biography

Erik Seiersen is an experienced international executive, with 30+ years of working in senior C-Suite leadership positions for international Global Fortune 100 companies in the Consumer Goods, Agribusiness, Logistics, Health Services and Financial Services industries in Mexico, throughout Latin America and in the United States. He currently serves on several Board of Director positions, leading the Finance, M&A and Audit Committees. He has deep expertise and experience in Mergers & Acquisitions/Divestitures, Operational and Financial Restructuring and Turnarounds, Tax Planning and Strategy, Corporate Finance, Consumer/Commercial and Marketing Strategies, as well as Capital Raising and Seed Financing.

Throughout his career, Mr. Seiersen has developed both in-depth functional expertise and a strong transactional acumen in the business areas. His key achievements include:

  • The turnaround of a leading restaurant operation in Mexico, helping recover from 10 million in losses, to 30 million USD in profits in 3 years, by focusing on operational excellence, unit growth and franchise development and Tax Planning, converting the company into the #1-unit player in Mexico in the 2000's with 350+ restaurants.
  • The financial restructuring of a leading spirts manufacturer and distributor in Mexico and Latin America, focusing on disciplined financial management, disposing of non-core assets, and reinvigorating the commercial and marketing strategies.
  • Acquisition of one of the leading wine companies in Argentina during the financial crisis of 2001-2002 and turning around the business into a leading export player.
  • The launch of the largest placement of peso denominated debt facility, guaranteed by agave holdings, along with FIRA, Mexico's second floor development bank.
  • The successful acquisition and break-up of the second largest global spirits manufacturer in the world, integrating processes for the operations, allocating and integrating assets, brands, systems, and teams to different acquirers.
  • The accelerated growth development of the largest confectionary company in Latin America via innovation and portfolio management, improving growth from 5% to 10%, making it the most profitable operation worldwide.
  • The financial and tax restructuring of leading confectionary player in Latin America, improving margins by 500bps, and eliminating tax exposure due to risk of VAT being implemented in the category in Mexico.
  • The turnaround and financial restructuring of the leading cash logistics operator in Mexico, by renegotiating union contract, improving and investing in asset base and reducing operational cost, leading to profitability in more than 5 years and improving margins 1,000bps.

Mr. Seiersen holds an BSBA with double major in Finance and Economic Theory, from American University in Washington, DC, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He has a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in Boston, MA. He is a Certified Financial Advisor. Mr. Seiersen is fluent in English and Spanish.
