Biography
Lisa M. Zelinski is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed in the State of Michigan, and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). She is experienced in a wide range of litigation consulting services and accounting guidance implementation projects.
The types of litigation matters that Lisa has worked on include personal injury claims (medical malpractice, wrongful death, product liability, and first-party and third-party auto accident), employment discrimination, professional malpractice, financial reporting irregularities, employee and vendor fraud, automotive industry OEM and supplier claims, post-acquisition disputes, SEC and government investigations, patent and trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, broker raiding claims, and creditor-side bankruptcy services. In connection with these services, she performs fact finding and discovery assistance, lost profit calculations, reasonable royalty rate calculations, business valuations, lost earnings and wages computations, and other financial analyses. She has been listed as an expert witness and authored expert reports in litigation matters.
Lisa's litigation experience encompasses a variety of industries including automotive, financial institutions, healthcare, insurance, professional practices, retail, construction, manufacturing, software, real estate, and electronics.
Lisa has provided consulting services for SEC Registrant clients on several different accounting and auditing issues including mark-to-market pension accounting, restatements, revenue recognition, inventory valuation, and lease accounting. She has been the project manager on multiple revenue recognition adoption projects for public and private companies in the manufacturing, education (including both retail and software offerings), and service industries. Lisa has also assisted clients in responding to SEC inquiries and investigations.
Lisa has been a guest speaker on topics involving fraud and forensic accounting. She has also volunteered as an expert witness in the Institute for Continuing Legal Education's Deposition Skills Workshop. Lisa also volunteers her time for both the Forensic Accounting and Litigation & Business Valuation Expert Panels with the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
Lisa is a graduate of Central Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with majors in accounting and personal financial planning (summa cum laude). She is a member of the MICPA, AICPA, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and the National Association of Forensic Economists (NAFE).
