Private Equity and Private Credit Leaders on the Move
As November came and went, we noticed a significant uptick in Operating Partner, Portfolio Ops and Advisor hiring with 40 moves being highlighted, almost 4x what was recorded for investor hiring.
Notably, seven of these transitions occurred within the technology, digital, and data functional domains. This includes Russell Uyeda at Apollo, Lawrence Miller at Welsh Carson Anderson Stowe and John Kalka at Clayton Dubilier & Rice. It is also noteworthy that PE firms have significantly increased their hiring of Talent leaders, with several new appointments.
Consulting firms continue to be a primary source for Portfolio Operations & Operating Partner talent with Platinum Equity, Tenex Capital Management, Hg and KKR all making hires from firms like McKinsey, Bain and BCG.

James Intermont has joined Blue Owl Capital as Managing Director, Alternative Credit, transitioning from his role as Managing Director, Structured Credit, at Atalaya Capital Management.
Quinlan Fang has been appointed to the Private Equity Technology Vertical, Member of Management, at Partners Group, leaving his role as Managing Director at HIG Capital.
Jack Varvel joins KKR as a Technology Investor, previously an Associate at The Carlyle Group.
Michael Klein is now Principal at Clayton Dubilier & Rice, after serving as Vice President at AEA Investors.
Steven Marangos takes on the role of Principal, Financial Services & Technology, at GTCR, leaving his Tactical Opportunities position at Blackstone.
Halley Sloane has joined Incline Equity Partners as Principal, after serving as Vice President at Aurora Capital Partners.
Matthew Rothfleisch is now Managing Director at Blue Owl Capital, transitioning from his previous role as Partner at Atalaya Capital.
Farha Carim takes on the role of Principal at Apollo Global Management, having previously been an Investment Director, CHIPS Program Office at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Joshua Liebow joins MPE Partners as Principal, previously serving as Co-Head, Junior Credit, at Manulife Investment Management.
Jean King has been named Managing Director at Blackstone, leaving her prior Managing Director role at Oak Hill Advisors.
Aneek Mamik is now Senior Managing Director at Blackstone, transitioning from his role as Partner, Global Head of Financial Services & Diversified Private Credit, at Varde Partners.
Sean McCorry has joined General Atlantic as Managing Director, Head of Capital Solutions for Credit Strategies, after serving as Managing Director at KKR.
Rob Carraway has been appointed SVP, Portfolio Operations, at Platinum Equity, following his role as Operating Executive Finance at The Riverside Company.
Jeff Pekarek has also joined Platinum Equity as VP of Portfolio Operations having previously been a Senior Manager at Bain & Company.
Demi Horvat has joined Alpine Investors as an Operating Executive, following her role as CEO at AirDNA.
Campbell Leckie has been appointed Operating Advisor at Tenex Capital Management. He was previously a Project Leader at BCG.
Kristyn Mealing takes on the role of Value Creation Director at Hg, transitioning from her position as Principal at BCG.
Tom Murtaugh joins Nordic Capital as Director of Portfolio Operations. He previously served as SVP of Global Business Operations at BigID.
Benjamin Smith is now Vice President of Talent Acquisition at L Catterton, following his tenure as VP of Talent Acquisition at BlackRock.
Mike Materasso assumes the role of GTM Growth Talent Lead, Atlas, at Alpine Investors, after serving as Head of Executive Recruiting at Brex.
Joe Chen has been named Operating Partner at Crosspoint Capital Partners, formerly Vice President of Engineering at Broadcom, Inc.
Rob Greer is now an Operating Partner at Crosspoint Capital Partners, transitioning from his role as VP & GM, Enterprise Security Group, at Broadcom, Inc.
Karen Garza joins Blackstone as an Operating Advisor, after serving as Managing Director at Brookfield Asset Management.
Reece Breault becomes Head of Portfolio Talent at Brighton Park Capital, having previously worked in executive search.
Eyal Zur has joined Vista Equity as Director of Value Creation GTM, previously serving as GM, Global Payroll, at Deel.
