Biography

Benjamin Rozsa Groo is an Associate in the New York restructuring and turnaround practice. His industry experience includes healthcare, religious institutions, and mining.

Before joining B. Riley, Benjamin worked at Deloitte as a tax consultant, where he advised private equity clients on tax strategies and assisted with M&A transactions for private equity funds, focusing on tax structuring and compliance. His experience in tax matters further complements his financial advisory skills, allowing him to offer comprehensive advice on complex transactions.

At B. Riley, Benjamin developed expertise in financial analysis related to restructuring and Chapter 11 advisory work. He has provided financial advisory services to debtors and creditors, working closely with other professionals to guide clients through Chapter 11 proceedings, and working on engagements that require cash flow management, financial modeling, and valuation analysis.

Benjamin's recent engagements include:

Financial advisor to a healthcare organization: Assisted with the preparation of cash flow projections, liquidity monitoring, and working capital support in a Chapter 11 restructuring. Benjamin's work focused on operating reports and professional fee analysis. He prepared and analyzed multiple monthly reports and financial statements as part of a comprehensive restructuring plan.

Assisting religious institutions in Chapter 11 filings: Worked closely with debtors through the Chapter 11 process, providing detailed financial and operational analysis, creditor matrix development, and post-filing activities.

Benjamin holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Yeshiva University and was an NCAA fencer in college.

He is also fluent in four languages, including Hungarian and Hebrew, bringing a unique global perspective to his work.
