Biography
Paul Munro, ASA, USPAP, is an Associate Director in the Corporate Advisory & Valuation Services practice of B. Riley Advisory Services. Munro is a specialist in tax and financial reporting matters as it relates to the valuation of tangible assets. He has provided opinions of value for a wide variety of purposes, including property tax, residual and insurable replacement cost value, financial reporting (such as business combinations - ASC805 / IFRS 3, fresh-start accounting, goodwill testing and impairment - ASC350, impairment studies for long-lived assets - ASC360 / IAS36), due diligence support, and liquidation studies (forced/orderly).
He has more than 15 years of valuation, project management and audit review experience. He started his career with Accuval conducting valuations of machinery and equipment for asset-based lending. He went on to work with RSM, performing tax and purchase accounting valuations of personal property as well as appraisal reviews.
Munro currently serves as Secretary with the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers and has earned the designation of Accredited Senior Appraiser, Machinery & Technical Specialties, as administered by the ASA. In addition, he has continued his education through successful completion of the USPAP and the Machinery & Technical Specialties Principles of Valuation courses.
