Biography
Virginia Schnippel is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers, specializing in business valuations and intangible assets. She has over 23 years of valuation and litigation support services experience in large global public accounting firms dealing with both domestic & international matters. These matters involved mergers & acquisitions, recovery & reorganization, litigation, tax and a variety of other valuation related advisory work.
Virginia is well-versed in U.S. GAAP as well as International Financial Reporting and Accounting Standards (IFRS/IAS) as it relates to fair value/fair market value measures. Her industry expertise includes, but is not limited to manufacturing & distribution, technology, transportation & logistics, alternative & renewable energy and health care.
Virginia is a key contributor in developing and teaching valuation related matters both internally and externally. She is also frequently asked to participate as a speaker in webinars and conferences on these same topics. Virginia spent more than 2 years seconded in London, UK where she held a lead advisory role in valuations for Grant Thornton. In this role, she worked frequently across borders ensuring consistency with local practices and global expectations. She held similar technical leadership roles in other firms where she has worked. She has also been involved with PCAOB/SEC reviews as well as assisted clients with legal and tax disputes related to valuations in various domestic and foreign jurisdictions.
Schnippel holds a Bachelors of Science Degrees in Accounting, Finance & International Studies Indiana University, Kelley School of Business.
